A Subdivision is the division of a parcel of land for the purpose of sale, tranfer of ownership, or development. This could be a simple boundary adjustment, the splitting off of a small building lot from a large farm, the division of a piece of vacant land into several lots for sale, or the creation of a housing development with streets and public utilities. A checklist is used by the Town of West Sparta Planning Board during their review of a Subdivision application to ensure that all the regulations for subdivisions listed in the Land Development Code and in the Town of West Sparta Subdivision law are met. The actual permit is issued by the Town Code Enforcement / Zoning Enforcement officer based on the Planning Board review.
