The Assessor's job is to maintain accurate and current inventory and value's for every parcel in the Town of West Sparta. The Assessor processes all exemptions, both one time applications and those that have to be renewed each year. All exemptions must be filed by
MARCH 1ST. The assessment roll shows property assessments and appropriate exemptions for all parcels. Every year the roll, with tentative assessments, is made available for public inspection on or about
MAY 1ST. The roll is available in the Assessor's office, the Livingston County Website (
http://co.livingston.state.ny.us/real_property.htm), and the link on the town websites homepage. The Board of Assessment Review is the
4TH THURSDAY OF MAY at the West Sparta Town Hall. The Board of Assessment Review acts on complaints and any changes are then made to the tentative assessment roll by the Assessor. The tentative assessment roll is then made final on or about
JULY 1ST.
